When I think “Hillcrest Royale” I think “satisfaction.”  In addition to room and board there is a host activities provided: cards, crafts, artwork, lectures, singing groups, dining out, sightseeing, etc., and private, quiet time for those who want it. One further plus – a bottomless cookie jar – homemade cookies, too!

In the pleasant Southern California town of Thousand Oaks stands a sturdy, four-story haven for those who once cared for their own family elders as age and illness required. This haven for those who cannot care for themselves, knows as Hillcrest Royale, provides a beautiful haven of love and safety for the elders of nearby families.

Within its sturdy walls those who call it home receive life options as diverse as supervised physical exercise and spiritual direction and comfort. Abundant food is enjoyed by all as is recreational diversions, access to a beautiful library at all hours, plus the giant screen TV and live entertainment at regular intervals.A real home for all!

An “Ode” to Hillcrest Royale
I came here widowed and sad,
I really looked and felt bad.
But everyone here made me feel there was lots to do,
If only we wanted to.
Classes, entertainment and trips,
New friends, learning new tips.
No more cooking, don’t have to clean.
I’m treated just like a queen.
Four years ago I thought my life was over.
Now I feel like I’m living in clover.
I love you Hillcrest Royale

Hillcrest Royale is in a wonderful location. My family really likes the security and safety that Hillcrest Royale offers. I enjoy exercise classes, spacious rooms, transportation, beautiful landscaping, games and BINGO!

Dear Gilliana and Inga,
Thank you so much for all that you and everyone at Hillcrest do to make things so safe, fun and comfortable. You really are the best to care for these very special parents of ours. I appreciate all that you do!
Love,

My Dad has lived in Hillcrest Royale retirement residence for six months now, and he really enjoys living there. The residence is clean, and the staff is wonderful. They take very good care of the residents and provide three meals a day, snacks, entertainment and activities, maid service and a nurse offers to handle medications, if needed. My Dad also has a laundry service once a week.  The staff is always available and has answered every question for us.

The rooms are quite large and the residents are able to bring their own furniture from home and furnish the rooms to their own liking. There is a beautiful covered backyard patio and families of the residents are treated to a wonderful buffet at the holidays. We are encouraged to visit with our family members any time of day, as often as we can; and we feel like Dad is safe and well-taken care of living there.

Hillcrest Royale would be a good choice for anyone considering retirement living.

Dear Inga,
It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial for Hillcrest Royale and all the staff.

After a year of intensive research and visitation to several retirement living residences my search was over. I found the most caring and genuinely loving environment for my mother. The generosity and attentiveness that my mother received was so greatly valued by her and our family.  After her death, the warmth in my heart continued until just recently when my father required more care. My dad presently lives at Hillcrest Royale in just as much comfort and enjoyment as my mom did.

There are no words to express the appreciation we feel by having Hillcrest Royale’s staff as part of our extended family. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,

- The C. Family

When I decided it was time to move into a retirement home I did a lot of thinking. I decided that it was necessary to establish certain criteria to determine what would be best for me. Based on location, the facility itself, and, of course, the rental rates, I chose Hillcrest Royale.

I have now lived here four years, and can honestly say it was the very best choice. My room is checked every day. I get clean towels and trash emptied every day, and once a week I get a thorough cleaning.

I think the most important feature is the staff. The staff does everything possible to accommodate the residents. They are extraordinary.

Now the delicate subject of food (my son thinks I am nuts).  I rate the meals a solid “B.” There are choices at each meal. They publish a menu each week and you can have options. The kitchen requests you sign up for any special choice if you do not like what is being served. So, working with them, you soon learn which of their dishes are excellent.

Hillcrest Royale has truly become my home.  The managers are very kind and caring, and they work hard at creating a family feeling for the residents.  I especially enjoy the musical programs on weekend, and I love my sunny and cheerful room looking into the tree tops
